8. Air Fryer Beef Steak

air fryer beef steak

Yes, you can have your favourite steak cooked by the air fryer too! And most importantly, it still tastes as good.

Prep time 5 minutes, Cooking time 20 minutes

Ingredients

  • 200g ribeye steak
  • 1 teaspoon of olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon of garlic powder (optional)
  • ½ teaspoon of Salt
  • ½ teaspoon of pepper
  • 1 cube of butter

Directions

  • Preheat the air fryer at 200OC for 5 minutes.
  • Pat your steak dry with a paper towel. Lightly oil the steak and season with salt and pepper and your favourite herbs and seasonings.
  • Air fry for 10-18 minutes depending on the thickness of your steak and the doneness you want your steak to be. Flip your steak halfway through.
  • Add butter on top of the steak, cover with foil and allow the steak to rest for 5 minutes.
  • Enjoy with mashed potato, salad or cold pasta!

Here are some tips when cooking steak in an air fryer. For a medium-rare steak, it should cook between 7-9 minutes. For a medium steak, cook between 10 to 14 minutes.

The ideal will be to use a meat thermometer, but if you are like me who’s still a novice, I would recommend slicing your steak a little to peek.

9. Air Fryer Molten Lava Cake

air fryer molten lava cake

Who doesn’t love the sight of that oozing chocolate lava when you cut into the cake? Just looking at it might give you an orgasm.

Just kidding!

Jokes aside, you’ll be surprised at how many kinds of desserts (including cookies) an air fryer can do for you, and molten lava is just one of the many.

My go-to chocolate chips when I make cookies are Ghirardelli bittersweet 60% cacao chocolate chips. For molten lava cakes, I use the Ghirardelli Premium Baking Bar 70% Cacao Bittersweet Chocolate.

Prep time 10 minutes, Cooking time 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 220g Ghirardelli 70% Cacao Extra Bittersweet Chocolate Baking Bar (break them into pieces)
  • ½ cup of all-purpose flour
  • 150g of melted unsalted butter
  • 3 large eggs
  • 3 egg yolks
  • ½ teaspoon of salt
  • 1 ½ cups of powdered sugar

Directions

  • Preheat the air fryer to 200OC
  • Melt chocolate and butter until smooth.
  • Add salt, powdered sugar, and flour and stir until you get a thick mixture.
  • Add eggs and egg yolk and whisk until well combined.
  • Grease 6-ounce ramekins and pour the thick batter into them.
  • Cook in the air fryer for 8-10 minutes but note that the longer you cook it the thicker the lava.
  • Allow the lava cake to set for about 2 minutes.
  • Run a knife around the edge to loosen the cakes. Invert them onto a plate and tap gently at the bottom of the ramekin to release them.
  • Sprinkle some powdered sugar, whip cream or vanilla ice cream and it’s ready to be served!

The remaining cakes can be stored in the fridge for 3 days or freezer. Remember to heat it up in the microwave the next time you want to consume them!

10. Air Fryer Caramelized Bananas

air fryer carmelized banana

Soft on the inside, crispy on the outside – one of the easiest breakfast (or desserts) to make in history.

If you are a banana lover like me, you will have your preferred brands of bananas. I love the ones from Del Monte because they have a smoother texture. I would not recommend using the smaller types of banana, for example, the Pisang Berangan or ang bak jio as Singaporeans know them. This is because the sugar in them break down too fast, and they became too small to savour with pancakes.

Prep time: 1 min  Cook time: 6 mins

Ingredients

– 2 bananas

– 1 tablespoon Coconut sugar

– ¼ lemon

– Cinnamon (optional)

Directions

– Peel the banana and slice them from the middle straight down vertically.

– Squeeze the lemon juice over each banana.

– Sprinkle coconut sugar over the banana until coated.

– Preheat the air fryer to 200OC.

– Cook for 6-8 minutes.

– Have them with pancakes or enjoy it as it is!
